This is required for Commercial Pilots; Flight Engineers; Flight Navigators; and Air Traffic Control Tower Operators.

A second class medical certificate will be required if you plan to go on and get a commercial pilot certificate. It is valid for one year, after which it expires as a second class medical certificate.  But it then converts to a third class medical certificate for the remainder of the time.  The requirements for a second class certificate are a bit stricter than that for a third class certificate.

How do I know what class certificate I need?

A first class medical certificate is required for an Airline Transport Pilot. It is valid for one year if you are less than age 40 before the date of the exam, and 6 months if you are older than 40. We are authorized to perform Class I exams.e over 40.

A third class medical certificate is probably the type you will need initially, and perhaps forever. It is good for a private pilot. It is valid for three years if you are less than age 40 before the date of the exam, and two years if you are over 40.

In person or Virtual Consultations

Please note that if you have one of the following conditions we may need to do some prep work prior to your visit.  Once we download your application from the FAA website we have to submit an exam by 14 days.  It is important to have all of our paperwork complete ahead of time to ensure your process is smooth.  We highly advise to ask for a consultation virtually or in-person prior to your exam if you are unsure.  We are here to help you succeed.
